Charity places in the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon

We encourage our charity place runners to also apply for a ballot place here on the Double TCS London Marathon website. If you choose to support us with your ballot place instead of a charity place, that helps us a lot, because it means we can have more runners. If you do support us with a ballot place, we can offer you the same benefits as we offer to our charity place runners.

The Disability Ballot is currently open, until 24 August 2026. This ballot has a much better chance of success than the main ballot for the Double TCS London Marathon, perhaps a 1 in 10 chance, depending on how many people enter of course. It's for people who count as long-term disabled under the Equality Act, which for example automatically includes anybody with a cancer/HIV/MS diagnosis. You can apply through this application form and you will need to provide evidence of disability with your application. These places are not fundraising places, although if you do choose to fundraise for us with your ballot place, we would be thrilled and we can offer you the same benefits as we offer to our charity place runners.
You can also apply until 24 August 2026 as an Assisted Wheelchair Entry which is for wheelchair users who would need assistance to complete the course. You can have up to four support people to push you, with no more than two helping at a time. Apply through this application form. These places are not fundraising places, although if you do choose to fundraise for us with your ballot place, we would be thrilled and we can offer you the same benefits as we offer to our charity place runners.
Whisper offers you and your supporters a cause where even small donations can be life-changing ✨. We're a very high-impact charity that funds Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital 🏥, a maternity unit 🤰🏾, an ambulance 🚑 and a nursing school 🎓 in Jinja, Uganda. We run on an annual donation budget of around £250,000. Every £20.28 donated allows us to treat a child, an average that includes some lengthy inpatient stays 🤒. We estimate that every £318 donated saves a life that would not otherwise have been saved 🧸. Outside Uganda we're entirely staffed by volunteers 💖, helping donations go further.

What we can offer you
- no registration fee. This is unusual.
- for any of your supporters who pay UK tax, we count legitimate Gift Aid towards your target.
- an individual running vest with a wide range of colours to choose from 👕.
- a free Coopah training app subscription 📱 to keep you motivated and help you train safely.
- advice and practical help with fundraising.
- free places for friends and family in the grandstand 🎪 at the finish line. Supply is limited, with priority given to the highest fundraisers.
- a voucher for a home-visit massage 💆♀️ from Urban or if you already have a preferred massage therapist, we can pay them instead.
- all of our expenses associated with the marathon are covered by specific donations from a particular donor as a THANK YOU 🙏 to our runners. Your supporters are not paying them. This is unusual.
For the running vest and the training app subscription, you will need to raise at least £60 to qualify. For the massage you will need to raise at least £2000.
I cannot tell you how inspiring this charity is. They do incredible work. I am raising money for Whisper but the support I am getting from them is fantastic. I have never had this before when raising money for charity. a previous runner in the London Marathon
What we would like from you
In return for a place we'd like you to donate or commit to raising at least £2200 for us, with the following intermediate targets:
- at least £300 raised in your first 3 months
- at least £600 raised by the end of November 2026
- at least £1200 raised by the end of February 2027
Not meeting the intermediate targets may put your place at risk, so if you prefer to leave fundraising until the last minute, we're not right for you. Perhaps your employer offers matched giving 💕, which can help you reach the target, or it can help you raise more 💸.
